Our annual Children’s Ball is the highlight of the dancing year for children all over Edinburgh and the Lothians.
This year, our Ball is on Friday 16 March at the Lauriston Hall, Lauriston Street, Edinburgh, EH3 9DJ dancing to Iain MacPhail and his Scottish dance band.
New this year… we are inviting all young dancers attending the ball to devise a dance. This will then be included on the programme for everyone to dance, published in our magazine “Dancing Forth” and have a tune written especially for it by band leader, Iain MacPhail.

DANCE SCOTTISH FOR CHILDREN
Celebrate all things Scottish and have fun learning some basic Scottish country dancing steps at free workshops in Edinburgh Central Library, George IV Bridge on Saturday mornings.
Dates for 2018 are:
27 January with Grant Bulloch and Roddy Johnston FULLY BOOKED
Suitable for children aged 5 to 11 years. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
Advance Booking is recommended. Parents and carers are welcome to come and watch - no need to book for yourself, just your child.
Juice and biscuits will be provided for thirsty dancers!

For decades Scottish country dancing was a staple part of school life around Edinburgh. Now with the huge resurgence in the popularity of ceilidhs, traditional music and dancing your school could once again become part of Edinburgh's thriving Dance Trad community for young people.
