Our young dancers enjoy lots of fun at classes and events designed for all ages.
Our regular Saturday morning children’s classes mainly follow the regular school terms.
We offer opportunities for our young dancers to be involved in competitions, performances and displays to boost their confidence, build their teamwork skills, and for a chance to perform in front of an audience.
We provide classes at Introductory and Intermediate levels.
Children of all ages are also offered the opportunity to work towards Graded Medal Tests, certified by the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society.
You do not have to be a member to dance with us. Book online from the appropriate Class information box below, or pay at the first class of each term.
If you are unsure of which class is best for you, or if you wish to pay by another method, please contact us for advice.

Our parent organisation, the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society, hold an annual gathering over a weekend. In 2024 it was held in Edinburgh. As part of a set of dances by the Edinburgh branch's demonstration team, our Young Dancers danced both on their own and also along with the adult team. Over two hundred people from around the world were there to enjoy the spectacle.
Watch the video (on YouTube) as our dancers perform some of the "14 New Dances and Tunes Celebrating the Centenary of RSCDS Edinburgh Branch" in November 2024.
For decades Scottish country dancing was a staple part of school life around Edinburgh. Now, with the huge resurgence in the popularity of ceilidhs, traditional music and dancing, your school could once again become part of Edinburgh’s thriving Dance Trad community for young people.
